↳ EASY ENGLISH NEWS

It is too hot in India

This week, we're talking about the heat in India. In India, it's already hot during the summer, and it's getting hotter. Many people are having a tough time because of the heat, and some are even dying. Schools have to close because of the heat. To combat the heat, many countries, including India, are buying more air conditioners, or ACs. ACs help to cool places down, which is good for people's health and productivity. But ACs can be harmful to our planet because they use chemicals that can make the world even hotter. Richer countries have strict rules to make ACs less harmful to the planet, but poorer countries can't afford these improved ACs. This is a tough problem to solve.

Key Words:

  • Suffer: to experience something bad

  • Air conditioners (ACs): machines which make the air cold

  • Afford: to have enough money to buy something
